Master Decânio
Mestre Decânio, one of the oldest disciples of Mestre Bimba still living today, is widely recognized as the premiere authority on Capoeira Regional of Mestre Bimba. A doctor by profession, he was at Bimba's side since 1938, providing medical care, helping with the administration of the Studio, studying capoeira and establishing rules and techniques for teaching the art.

Mestre Decânio has written several books about Capoeira, combined in the collection São Salomão, edited by he himself. His work has been called (by Master Damião)the "true Bible of Capoeira".
