Master Deputado
Master Deputado began Capoeira with Master Osvaldo de Souza, and then later trained with Mestre Bimba. He always been a great promotor of capoeira, throughout Brazil, but primarily in Goiás and Mato Grosso. He is the author of various books about capoeira.

Master Deputado's nickname (which means "Congressman") was given to him by Master Bimba, because he always knew so many people and had so many friends. Master Bimba once said, "Only a congressman could know so many people...", and the name stuck.
